LiveMetta Brings Loving Kindness to Newport Beach
LiveMetta, the boutique Southern California Pilates and yoga studio chain, is bringing its focus on loving kindness and holistic wellness to Newport Beach, and the studio has quickly attracted a loyal following.
“We’ve had so much success with our Newport Beach location. Membership growth is as high as it’s ever been, we’re offering more classes than we’ve ever offered and class attendance rates are at their highest,” says co-founder Chris Farnsworth.
“What sets LiveMetta apart is our mission to spread love. We’re very excited to continue strengthening this incredible community.”
LiveMetta co-founder Chris Farnsworth
Farnsworth and his team took over LiveMetta’s Westcliff Plaza space from Core Reform Pilates in 2022.
“Irvine Company helped ensure a seamless lease transition,” Farnsworth says. “We’ve had a great experience partnering with them here.”
He credits the studio’s success to its holistic approach to well-being and exceptional instructors such as Sarah Brancazio and Ashley Disman, who are both client favorites.
“LiveMetta is about much more than exercise,” Farnsworth says. “Our team is passionate about helping you be the strongest version of you. So when the stressors of life are at their highest, you can tap into a sense of equanimity and weather the storm.”
Chris and his wife, Tee, know first hand how important it is to find calm. They each left their previous jobs – Chris was a litigator and Tee worked in healthcare – to follow their dream to open LiveMetta. Then the pandemic hit.
“When the shutdowns happened, we sold our forever home and moved in with family. We took a huge gamble on LiveMetta because we truly believed in it.”
“Metta” is an Eastern word for the practice of cultivating loving kindness, which places love and kindness at the center of all intention and action. For Chris and Tee, the philosophy is how they seek to operate their business, too.
“Love brings clarity to our work and our daily actions,” he says. “What sets LiveMetta apart from other studios is our mission to spread love: through movement, through community, through experiences. This mission creates an incredible culture for instructors and students.”
Today LiveMetta has eight locations across Southern California and has been named one of INC Magazine’s 5000 Fastest Growing Companies.
“We’re honored to have some of the very best instructors in Southern California, and we have a passionate management team that really believes in what we do. Our first-ever teacher training at Newport Beach is already sold out. We’re very excited to continue strengthening this incredible community.”
