The men’s corner of Fashion Island

You can find more than half a dozen menswear magnets steps from each other in and around Fashion Island’s Nordstrom Court. Two of the boutiques, Todd Snyder and Orlebar Brown, are new.

Todd Snyder reimagines wardrobe essentials with luxurious materials. Its niche fibers include linen in Irish and Italian variants and cashmere blends. The aesthetically inspiring store also carries candles and perfumes by D.S. & Durga, vintage jewelry and, coming soon, vintage timepieces. New arrivals include the Relaxed Sea Soft Irish Linen Popover Shirt and Relaxed Japanese Selvedge Chino Pants.

“We’re here to holiday better,” says John Quandt, manager at Orlebar Brown. The British resortwear brand, part of the Chanel fashion house, reinvents vacation style for men at boutiques worldwide. Its classic tailored Bulldog shorts remain the best “shorts you can swim in” – and transition seamlessly to lunch or drinks. Other draws: shirts, knitwear, outerwear, trousers, footwear and sunglasses.

The corner also boasts New Zealand-based Rodd & Gunn and a brick-and-mortar location of online custom-only retailer Bonobos. Though still predominantly menswear driven, the Travis Mathews and Buck Mason boutiques now offer womenswear as well. Nearby Garys, the center’s original men’s retailer, has been at Fashion Island since 1978.
