NYC Style at Rubin&Chapelle

Newport Beach locals met sustainable luxury fashion pioneers Sonja Rubin and Kip Chapelle at their new Fashion Island boutique. The Rubin&Chapelle store is an Orange County exclusive and only the second in California. “We are thrilled to open at Fashion Island, which has always been a special place for me,” says Chapelle. “I love the calm and sophisticated atmosphere of the property.” Designed by Jeff Goldberger from UE Architecture, the boutique merges the raw allure of the brand’s New York workshop with an understated California appeal. “Fashion Island and the coastal community embodies a lifestyle that values our high-quality fabrics and designs, as well as our commitment to ethical and sustainable processes,” says Rubin. “We are very excited to bring Rubin & Chapelle to this beautiful region.”

Luxury Southern California resort VEA Newport Beach took a foray into fashion by collaborating with menswear brand Orlebar Brown, which recently debuted an Orange County exclusive boutique at Fashion Island.

The British lifestyle brand hosted a pop-up shop at one of VEA’s poolside cabanas in June. The cabana was decorated with custom upholsteries and branded pool accessories, as well as samples of the brand’s latest collection. Guests enjoyed signature cocktails poolside and could also contact a personal shopping concierge to deliver items directly from the Fashion Island store.

A visit to the beautifully designed Lincoln Experience Center at Fashion Island is always a treat, whether one is in the market for a new vehicle or not. The world-exclusive center features curated events and also provides a complimentary space for community groups to gather and meet. Once parked, the relaxation starts as the driver’s seat slides back, reclines and warms slightly as the seat massage begins. Calming visuals fill the 48-inch panoramic display, complemented by ambient lighting and soothing sounds as a subtle fragrance fills the cabin.
